WELCOME TO THE ST. JOHN’S CHRISTIANS IN ACTION (CIA)/SUNDAY SCHOOL PAGE
Our CIA program is centered around the Bible and how it relates to our children’s lives today.
Kids between the ages of 4 and 17 are welcome to come participate in our weekly Sunday morning activities from 10:45am to 11:30am.
Our activities range from crafts/finger play for younger children to geography and the study of the gospel for our teen students.

Meet our Volunteer Staff
Cathy Torbik
Cathy is the Director of Special Services at Glassboro Public Schools with various degrees in education. Prior to that, Cathy served as the Director of Special Services for Lindenwold School District. Cathy has been serving as a CIA teacher since 2016.
Jen Brenner
Jen Brenner is the Director of the Cumberland County Library since 2020. Jen previously served as the NJLA President and oversaw teen/children programming for the Gloucester County Library system. She holds a Masters Degree in Library Science and Information Technology from Drexel University.
Stephanie Weist
Stephanie is the Vice President for Global Supply Chain Management at PAE, Inc. Stephanie serves on church council and has been a part of the CIA program since 2019. Stephanie holds a Bachelors Degree in Accounting from Rowan University.
Janice Smith
Janice is a retiree from Rowan University where she performed data analytics. Janice has served as the Music Director at St. John’s for over 47 years and is the lead for our CIA programming and activities. Janice has been a group leader for the Girls Scouts for the past 47 years.
Ann Adams
Ann is a retiree and serves as our creative guru for the CIA team. Ann has been supporting the CIA program for over 30 years. She is the proud grandmother of five beautiful children.

Who can attend Sunday School/Christians In Action (CIA)?Any child from the age of 4 to 17 with parents permission/approval. You do not need to belong to the church in order to attend our program. We welcome all children into our program.

Does CIA/Sunday School occur while Church is in session?No, CIA/Sunday School sessions are immediately following our 9:30 mass each Sunday. You are not required to attend mass in order to attend CIA/Sunday School.

Is my child required to be vaccinated or wear a mask to participate?There are no vaccination requirements for children to attend CIA/Sunday School. At this time children are required to wear masks when indoors.

Are there any supplies required for my child to attend CIA/Sunday School?No supplies are needed, we will provide each child with their own individual supplies for class as well as their own individual sanitizer. All that we ask is that your child come ready to learn and have fun!

What type of activities should I expect from the CIA/Sunday School program?We have various activities centered around our curriculum. Once a month, we sing, act out a play, or play musical instruments for our congregation. The kids love this activity as it helps them learn new skills and develop confidence.
